The end of October brought two typhoons that quickly cooled down the island for a while and Manta season ended early to the disappointment of many divers. However, the weather is still warm enough to comfortably enjoy Ishigaki’s beaches with temperatures around 25-30°C! The water temperature is also around the same so there is still plenty of time to enjoy both snorkeling and other water activities.
UPDATE: This year’s november was actually quite cold compared to previous years! If you are planning a trip to Ishigaki be aware that November is a bit of a gamble, it can also be quite cold around 20°C and strong winds.
November is actually one of my favorite months on Ishigaki, night temperatures get low enough to skip the air-condition and instead open the windows to feel the breeze. Love the fresh air and the quietness! Talking about quiet, there are also fewer tourists on Ishigaki and life slows down to a more comfortable place. I know many people (especially business owners) will not agree with this being a good thing as they quickly see the money flow drop but, for me, it’s a much-needed break. I just can’t help myself, it’s just so nice to walk around with a brain that no longer feels like an overheated hard drive!
I’ve finaly had the energy to start up Instagram again, I don’t dare to promise a massive flow of pictures but there will be at least weekly updates from now on. A big thanks to everybody who has tagged #visitishigaki, I will feature some of your amazing pictures soon. I’m really looking forward to shooting more ocean pictures again and I already have a few ideas for Christmas.
By the end of this month, I hope to have a guide up for Ishigaki city with sightseeing spots worth visiting. Like the Torinji temple, peace-bell park, the 730 crossing, and a few other places worth of interest. Also, good spots for shopping and where you can find supermarkets.
Until then, thanks for stopping by ^_^
